We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Electoral Services team. You will oversee the planning, organisation and delivery of day to day operation of electoral services in relation to the annual electoral registration canvass, implementing new processed required by the Election Act 2022, the publication of the electoral register and the maintenance of the electoral register throughout the year.

The successful candidate will have experience in supporting the management and delivery of elections in our Borough and delivering all statutory electoral processes including electoral registration.

It\xe2\x80\x99s an exciting and interesting time to join the Electoral Services Team with the introduction of the Elections Act 2022.

The role
The Electoral Services Manager will lead and manage a team of electoral services officers and be responsible for the delivery of elections in the Borough and electoral administration ensuring the Council is fully compliant with legislation.

What you will need:
Be politically aware, have a substantial knowledge of electoral legislation, ensuring your knowledge is up to date with the ability to interpret and apply it.
Enthusiastic and can lead, supervise and motivate the team to work to the best of your ability
Hold the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) Certificate of Electoral Administration
You will be a confident and proactive individual with excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills with people at all levels of the Council
You should have excellent IT skills and good attention to detail and experience of using Xpress electoral management software
You be required to work with a high level of accuracy and demonstrate initiative and resilience in order to work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines
You must be flexible in your day to day working and be prepared to work extended hours when required, especially at the time of the annual canvass and in the period leading up to elections.
