JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that E&I systems are maintained in accordance with the ISP Written Scheme of Verification.

\xc2\xb7 Actively participate in HSE activities, e.g., toolbox talks, risk assessments, safety meetings, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the annual testing of the fire and gas system and emergency shut-down system to the satisfaction of the certifying authority.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for becoming technically familiar with ISP E&I control systems, equipment and manuals.

\xc2\xb7 Provide on shore technical back up and assistance in the case of an emergency.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for identifying where or when the ISP could be at risk by the exposure to obsolescence, or the failure to meet performance standards.

\xc2\xb7 Assess impact of HSE safety notices upon ISP and advise accordingly.

\xc2\xb7 Review and risk assess all E&I modifications.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Support Operational Risk Assessment against E&I related Performance Standards equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Develop in-house engineering for E&I control systems modifications where appropriate.

\xc2\xb7 Develop and supervise third party work scopes in a safe and timely manner.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the upkeep of shore-based documentation, manuals and electronic files and databases.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for collating data and the revision of all asset drawings to as-built standard. Liaise with DCC for update of such revisions.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure associated E&I engineering changes on the ISP are registered, controlled and carried out in compliance with the appropriate authorities, procedures and safe working practices.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the updating of associated E&I engineering records, reports, databases and filing systems.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for the mobilization of specialist vendors for annual assurance activities in accordance with certifying authority requirements.

\xc2\xb7 Identify non-conformances in the operation of ISP control systems.

\xc2\xb7 Assess the impact of third-party electrical equipment upon ISP.

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with third party and specialist vendors.

\xc2\xb7 Liaise with ISP operations on a daily / weekly basis.

\xc2\xb7 Familiar with IEC and BS relevant standards.

\xc2\xb7 Asset focal point for Engineering MOC.

\xc2\xb7 Asset focal point for digital transformation.

\xc2\xb7 Owns E&I budget items. Responsible for planning and approval of spending against budget within level of approval.

\xc2\xb7 Own PMAs and PMs associated with E&I equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Undertake planned and unplanned E&I work scopes on ESD and F&G systems, hazardous area equipment, power generation, telecommunications, navigation and electrical equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Periodically review completed maintenance work orders to ensure that they remain suitable and identify non-conformances.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for developing the E&I spare management strategy to fall in line with ISP life cycle requirements.

\xc2\xb7 Periodically review OEM/vendors in order to identify ISP exposure to obsolescence or restrictions due to lack of vendor resource.

\xc2\xb7 Periodically review maintenance regimes and strategies.

\xc2\xb7 Sourcing spare components, equipment, and alternative OEM/vendor resources.

\xc2\xb7 Asset focal point for collation of monthly maintenance data for inclusion in monthly reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for highlighting to the Operations Superintendent and/or the Rig Manager any omissions, errors and potential improvements with regards to E&I systems.

\xc2\xb7 Competence assessment of the E&I Engineer will be carried out by the Electrical and Instruments TAs.

\xc2\xb7 Technically supervises and advises ISP operations on a daily and weekly basis, determines E&I maintenance strategies and assurance procedures. Co-ordinates dock visit E&I work scopes and supervises third party vendors and/or contractors.

\xc2\xb7 Under broad supervision from Operations Superintendent, the E&I Engineer provides technical advice, back-up and support to the ISP operations team on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

\xc2\xb7 Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training course and OGUK medical

\xc2\xb7 Relevant years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the offshore industry as an E&I Engineer or related role.

\xc2\xb7 Qualified in Electrical or Instrument Engineering to HNC level with relevant vocational experience or hold degree in Electrical or Instrument Engineering

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge and understanding of appropriate standards.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of emergency response systems and philosophies

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of fire and gas systems

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of IEC legislation and BS.

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of safety related ESD/F&G systems

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of electrically certified equipment in hazardous areas

\xc2\xb7 Understanding Written Scheme of Verification assurance activities

\xc2\xb7 PC proficient in \'Word\', \'Excel\' and \'Microsoft Project\'

\xc2\xb7 Permit to work system awareness.

\xc2\xb7 STOP/START and/or Synergi awareness.

\xc2\xb7 Experience of fully automated machinery and electronically controlled systems

\xc2\xb7 Dock yard or fabrication yard experience

\xc2\xb7 Experienced in operation of jack up vessels and associated power management and F&G systems.

\xc2\xb7 Willing and able to work unsupervised.

\xc2\xb7 Self-motivated

\xc2\xb7 Team worker and team builder

\xc2\xb7 Safety conscious

\xc2\xb7 Good written and verbal communication skills
