Apprenticeship Summary:



An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join our team of skilled and experienced engineers as a Apprentice Engineer (Instillation and Maintenance Electrician). This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with an interest in electrical servicing and repairs. The successful candidate will be provided with specialised training, which combines working towards an externally accredited and assessed NVQ qualification, developing new skills and gaining valuable experience whilst working on the job.



Prospects:



This training will last up to 3-5 years depending on the level of NVQ. On completion of this apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be a fully qualified Instillation and Maintenance Electrician, responsible for working towards excellent standards of quality and safety in all aspects of their work. Following a successful apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for the right individual to progress into a permanent role within JLL.

Job Summary/Goals

To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance and extra works / emergencies in accordance with the contract requirements, assisting a qualified engineer on Electrical Services.



Working hours vary according to specific post, and may be any of the following:



Day - 0800-1700 Monday to Friday

Day Shift - 0700-1900 7-day shift pattern

Shift - 12hr shifts supplying 24-hr cover on a rotating shift pattern



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



To assist / carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated electrical systems.

Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.

To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated the electrical aspects of the PPM and plant.

To assist in a prompt and effective manner to all electrically related reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.

To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all EWIS requests from the client.

To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with electrical aspects of the PPM schedules.

Assist with Electrical fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.

Repair of electrical systems and controls associated with Heating and Ventilating Building Services.

Repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.

Assist other trades as necessary.



Additional duties:



To attend college as required.

To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.

To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client or qualified engineers.

Experience



Essential:



A keen interest in engineering

A hunger to learn

Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.

Experience in the Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules

Experienced in electrical installation work, plus electrical testing and inspection



Desirable:



A good understanding of electrical and mechanical services



Qualifications



Essential:



GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) pass in Maths (Grade B/Grade 5)

GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) pass in English (Grade C/Grade 4)

GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) pass in Science (Grade C/Grade 4)

Full Driving Licence
