Are you weighing up your next steps after GCSEs? Wondering whether A-levels, college, or university is the best route to a career in engineering?
At Saint-Gobain Formula, we believe that ambition doesn't only belong in the classroom - it belongs in the real world too. That's why we're offering a challenging, structured, and academically supported apprenticeship programme that leads to nationally recognised qualifications and the potential to continue your studies to achieve a degree in Engineering, all while gaining valuable industry experience from day one.
Formula, part of the global Saint-Gobain Group, is a leading supplier of high-performance industrial plaster and gypsum products.
The apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Lincoln College on day release once a week (during term time), with the remaining time spent on-site at Saint-Gobain Formula in Newark.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a hardworking and driven individual who's looking to accelerate their career in engineering by studying towards an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. We would love to hear from individuals who:
Excel in subjects like Maths, Science and Technology subjects, with a head for solving real-world problems
Academically capable and interested in going beyond GCSEs
Passionate about engineering and how things work
Eager to take a more hands-on, applied route into a professional career
Be aged 16 or older by 1st September 2025
What You'll Be Doing
Unlike the traditional A-level to university pathway, this apprenticeship allows you to earn a salary, gain industry experience, and work towards the same level of academic achievement - with the added advantage of real-world learning at a World Class Manufacturing site.
From day one, you'll be an active part of the team at our Newark site, supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of our production equipment using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques. You'll:
Work alongside experienced engineers on both electrical and mechanical systems
Learn how complex industrial processes operate and are maintained
Contribute to real projects that drive productivity and sustainability
Develop both technical and critical thinking skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Work towards a Level 3 BTEC Award in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Progress to HNC level (equivalent to the first year of university), and for high-performing apprentices, there's the opportunity to continue to degree-level study, fully supported by Saint-Gobain Formula
