We are looking to appoint a skilled
Electrical Design Engineer
to join our head office team based in
Corsham
. Flexible working arrangements may be available once the initial training period is successfully completed.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to be part of a small, collaborative technical team responsible for the design of both bespoke and standard control panels, as well as electrical installation schematics, for use in a range of industrial projects.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the Lead Electrical Design Engineer and other departments to deliver accurate, compliant, and commercially viable designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
Ensure compliance with relevant customer specifications and industry standards
Support integration of electrical systems into machinery, working cross-functionally with other engineering teams
Provide assistance to the panel assembly team during the build and testing phases
Document design updates, support Design Change Notices (DCNs), and participate in formal design reviews
Collaborate with commissioning teams to support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
Requirements:
Completed a formal qualification in an Engineering discipline
Minimum of 2 years' experience using electrical design software, ideally within machinery or industrial automation
Proficient in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
Practical and logical approach to design challenges with a focus on cost-effective solutions
Strong communication and documentation skills
Experience or understanding of machine safety and functional safety standards (e.g. ISO 13849) is desirable
Comfortable working with ERP systems (training will be provided)
High attention to detail and strong task ownership
