Ocean Infinity is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer. They will be responsible for the Electrical design at both system and detail level with a heavy focus on real world implementation of scalable design.
This role is instrumental in the design and implementation of new electrical systems for the technology groups, integrated with novel control and electrical systems for marine payloads. Focusing on Fleet in Service work fulfilling customer requirements and novel integration solutions across multiple types of sub sea survey and Geotechnical payloads.
Within the system engineering environment, the role holder supports packages of design work, coordinating all elements of CAD and supporting documentation in Solidworks PDM revision control system.
What you will do:Responsible for system documentation of marine electrical equipment with a focus on delivering DNV compliant solutions;
Interpreting and understanding client requirements from client documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence);
Production of procurement specifications for electrical equipment and production of detailed design, construction and installation drawings;
Responsible for the production of single line and block diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, cable schedules and detailed schematics;
Produce cable routing plans in 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks;
Updating bill of materials and occasional assistance with procurement;
Writing verification and testing documentation for novel designs;
Support process and procedure documentation for electrical design within OI;
Working across multiple projects and supporting different disciplines with electrical documentation;
Develop safety arguments and contribute evidence to the safety case of electrical systems.
Who you are:Degree qualified Electrical design engineer;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a system design or system integrator role;
High level of knowledge relating to electrical engineering standards and regulations, ideally in UK and other jurisdictions;
Expert user of Autocad or similar 2D design package;
Experience of Autocad Electrical or similar design package;
Experience in designing and building marine systems;
Capable of assessing third party design information and integrating with vessel systems;
Understanding of lithium-ion battery technologies and related safety regulation;
High attention to detail.
Desirable:Post graduate qualification in related field and membership of relevant a professional body (e.g., Chartered Electrical Engineer);
Previous experience as an Electro Technical Officer (ETO) desirable;
Medium or high voltage system experience;
Good verbal presentation skills.
Salary for this position: Up to 55,000 per annum
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
