Are you an experienced electrical building services engineer with a passion for delivering technically excellent and innovative design solutions? Jersey Energy is seeking a proactive and professional

Electrical Design Engineer

to join our team and help shape the island's energy future.



In this role, you will design, manage, and supervise electrical building service engineering projects under the guidance of your line manager. You'll take projects from concept through to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and technical excellence in compliance with current regulations and company processes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver electrical design duties including calculations, CAD layouts, specifications, and compliance with BS 7671, IET, and CIBSE standards. Design systems such as LV power distribution, small power, lighting, data, and electric vehicle charging. Coordinate with other building services and oversee project documentation and reporting. Support junior engineers and ensure project delivery meets deadlines and budget expectations. Undertake site surveys, inspections, and contribute to continuous technical development. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including contractors and design teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Proven experience in delivering end-to-end electrical building services projects. Excellent project management, communication, and team collaboration skills. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and ideally Revit (BIM), Amtech, Dialux, and EOM. A clean driving license is essential.

Qualifications

One of the following:

2:1 Bachelor's Degree in Building or Related Services Engineering OR Level 3 City & Guilds Electrotechnical Engineering (5357) OR Level 3 City & Guilds Design, Erection & Verification (2396)
