Summary
An Electrical Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings and layouts used in the construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems. This role involves preparing technical diagrams, schematics, wiring layouts, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:Prepare and revise electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solidworks). Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to gather specifications and requirements. Create single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable routing plans, lighting layouts, and grounding systems. Interpret technical data, electrical codes, and engineering sketches to create accurate design documents. Ensure all drawings are up-to-date, properly documented, and comply with industry standards. Participate in site visits or inspections to take measurements and validate installations. Assist in material take-offs, bill of materials (BOM), and technical submittals. Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages. Maintain and organize project drawing archives and document control.

Qualifications:Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Draftsman ship. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, or other electrical drafting tools. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, symbols, and industry codes. 2+ years of experience in a similar role (varies depending on employer). Good communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:Experience with BIM modeling and electrical load calculations. Familiarity with software like ETAP, Dialux, or Navisworks. Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, cable sizing, and switchgear layout.

Work Environment:May work under tight project deadlines and multiple concurrent assignments.
