Are you a dedicated and
experienced Electrical Engineer
seeking a challenging new role? If your passion lies in ensuring seamless operations within the
FMCG
sector, we have an exciting opportunity that may be perfect for you!
As our Shift Engineer, you will be a vital cog in the smooth operation and enhancement of
Reach's print production
. Your role will be diverse, spanning from
preventative maintenance to structured problem-solving, leveraging your technical skills to ensure optimal efficiency.
This position operates on a
shift basis - 2 days on, 2 nights on, followed by 4 days off;
hence flexibility is essential.
Your workplace will be dynamic, working alongside a team to address
breakdowns, assist operators with basic engineering tasks, and devise standard operating procedures to boost equipment performance.
Your contributions will directly influence the reliability and
productivity of our print production,
guaranteeing that our newspapers and digital platforms continue to connect with millions of readers.
Your daily responsibilities will include maintaining the safety and efficiency of our site. This includes carrying out
preventative maintenance, rapidly responding to breakdowns,
employing your problem-solving.
You will work closely with operators and other teams, upholding safety standards whilst interacting with cutting-edge technology and engineering systems. Whether it's
troubleshooting issues, creating SOPs or supporting production activities.
Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed:
You'll need a
Level 3 (NVQ) engineering qualification
in electrical or mechanical disciplines--or
time-served apprenticeship experience
. Your background in
FMCG or manufacturing environments
will help you handle the fast-paced nature of the role.
A flexible,
proactive mindset is essential,
as is the ability to
multitask under pressure
. Strong IT skills will come in handy, as you'll be using
CMMS systems, MS Word, and Excel
to report, track, and manage engineering tasks. Your excellent communication skills will also be key, as you'll be interacting with
operators, contractors, and management
across the site.

We're offering a salary of
45,000 - 51,000
