The Kanthal Product Area specialises in heating alloys, elements, modules and systems for industrial heating and high temperature applications. Primary markets are the semiconductor, solar, glass, chemical and petrochemical industries, in which a high level of expertise and reliability are needed in the delivery of industrial heat.

We are now looking for an Electrical Engineering Apprentice, keen to work through a Modern Apprenticeship Program based both at site in Perth and at Fife College based in Rosyth, to achieve SVQ level 3 and Higher National Certificate (HNC).
Your role
Work within the Engineering department, alongside our experienced Maintenance Engineers, following an approved Modern Apprenticeship Scheme:
Year 1: College based SVQ 2 Practical Skills training & National Qualification (NC)
Years 2 & 3: Workplace with college day release to achieve Higher National Qualification (HNC)
Year 4: Workplace with key reviews from college assessor to achieve SVQ 3 in electrical maintenance engineering
Support the maintenance and repair of production and ancillary equipment used in the manufacture of silicon carbide heating elements. Gain hands-on experience across a range of engineering disciplines, including electrical, electronic and mechanical systems. Be involved in basic facilities maintenance tasks such as building services, lighting/heating systems, while helping to ensure the wider site remains safe and operational.

About you
You must have a minimum of 5 National 5s, or equivalent, including Mathematics and English. Subjects in
technological
or
science-based
areas are preferred, as they support the technical aspects of the role. You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, with good communication and timekeeping skills and enjoy solving problems in a logical and hands-on way. An interest in manufacturing environments and how machinery/systems work is also desirable.
