Summary of the role



You are responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems in our inspection systems, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and alignment with business goals.

Role and Responsibilities



Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems and components. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and product teams. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols. Drive the adoption of best practices in circuit design, PCB layout, power systems, and embedded systems. Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance engineering efficiency. Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of engineering staff.

Skills and Qualifications



Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven track record of delivering complex electrical systems or products. Knowledge of analogue/digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems. Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Altium etc ) Experience with regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, Semi). Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills Experience in Semiconductor or PCB manufacturing equipment. Experience of x-ray imaging equipment. PMP or similar project management certification.

Travel



Some travel to Nordson sites both in the UK and overseas . Approx. 5-10%
