Electrical Engineering Technician

You will have the opportunity to build your engineering skillset with exposure to a wide range of our products, from simple control system architectures to considerably more complex systems.
Ideal candidate should have a keen interest in electrical engineering, control systems, automation, software etc. we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are suitably qualified or have relevant experience and are working towards qualification. You should have a desire to grow your career through a mix of practical fault finding, design, testing and product development involvement. About the role
Key duties and responsibilities:
Be the key interface between the Electrical Design team and our factory floor production environment, become skilled in fault resolution and fault finding on new equipment builds.
Develop skills in PLC software downloading, control system testing and issue resolution.
Manage product quality improvement projects to continuously improve the machine control system, reliability and safety.
Create and control technical documentation that supports machine production and aftermarket.
Provide support for existing and new product in conjunction with our aftermarket team.
Validation on new product and existing product changes, in line with our documented test and development procedures.
Attention to detail when it comes to delivered control system quality, behaviour and operator ease of use.
Through machine testing and validation ensure new designs are fit for purpose, with simplicity, functionality and quality in mind.
Work with electrical design engineers to support new product development, design and validation
Be involved in new machine and electrical system R&D projects
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Strong focus on resolution of complex issues on existing design, with ability to take ownership to resolution.
Liaise with multiple departments to ensure smooth day to day function of production issues, customer queries and design projects.
Lead Engineering improvement projects.
Provide electrical training and assistance when required for customers.
Constantly evaluate ways to improve quality and reliability in electrical systems.
Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Criteria

  • HLA in Electrical/Mechatronics or similar
  • Willingness to develop experience in control system architecture, hardware and software.
  • An emerging ability to concept control system software and behaviour for machine systems / subsystems.
  • Good understanding of Electrical and hydraulic systems would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical engineering principles for both AC and DC systems.
  • Capable of logical thinking and system fault finding in heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of company departments and customers.
  • Ability to communicate, in oral or written form, is required.
  • Working knowledge of CoDeSys, Solidworks Electrical, EPlan, Engine diagnostic software would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to use test instruments and understand their functions required.
