Electrical Estimator - Ex-Electrician Preferred

Our projects include large scale housing and apartment developments, PV (solar), EV charging, and access control systems as well as full M&E packages with trusted mechanical partners.

We are looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our commercial team. This role is ideal for an ex-electrician who wants to move into estimating, or an existing estimator looking for stability and career progression with a growing contractor.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for housing and mixed-use projects
Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope, risks and opportunities
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and best value
Support value engineering and alternative design options
Work closely with operations to ensure tenders are achievable and profitable
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of costs, standards and industry best practice

Requirements

Ex-electrician (NVQ3, AM2, 18th Edition background desirable) or strong practical knowledge of electrical contracting
Estimating experience within electrical contracting
Good commercial awareness and technical knowledge of installations
Strong communication skills and ability to work to deadlines
Organised, detail focused and able to manage multiple tenders at once
