Electrical Lead - Immingham - 50,000 - 65,000 + Benefits



The Electrical Lead is responsible for the ongoing development and enhancement of EFAB's electrical programme. This includes the continuous review and refinement of processes, procedures, and standards to ensure they remain robust, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.

This role requires a proactive leader who can identify opportunities for improvement, implement innovative solutions, and foster a culture of operational excellence within the Electrical Team. By driving continuous improvement, the Electrical Lead strengthens EFAB's technical capabilities and supports the delivery of high-quality, compliant electrical services across all projects.

Key Responsibilities



1. Leadership & Team Development



Recruit, train, and develop a skilled Electrical Engineering Construction Team. Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and supervision to electricians and apprentices. Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews and support individual career development plans.

2. Planning & Execution



Develop detailed work plans and schedules for electrical construction activities. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems. Allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones and deadlines. Monitor progress, manage risks, and adjust plans as required to ensure successful delivery.

3. Estimating & Budgeting



Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical works including materials, labour, and equipment. Support tendering and bid preparation for new projects. Track and report variances between estimated and actual costs to improve forecasting accuracy.

4. Technical Oversight



Ensure all electrical installations comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications. Review, approve, and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation. Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for complex electrical issues. Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.

5. Health, Safety & Compliance



Promote and enforce strict adherence to EFAB's health and safety policies and statutory regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and legislation. Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and project records.

6. Business Development & Bids



Support the business development team with technical input for proposals and tenders. Participate in client presentations to demonstrate EFAB's electrical capabilities. Identify opportunities for innovation, service expansion, and process improvement. Contribute to strategic planning and development of new service offerings.

7. Stakeholder Engagement



Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment and collaboration. Communicate project status, risks, and technical issues clearly and proactively. Represent the electrical discipline in project meetings, design reviews, and progress discussions.

Qualifications & Experience



Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Chartered Engineer (IET) status or working towards is desirable. Proven experience leading electrical construction or engineering teams in industrial or infrastructure projects. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. Comprehensive understanding of relevant UK electrical codes and health & safety legislation.
