37.5hr contract - Monday-Friday 0700-1500 (we are keen to consider alternative working patterns)

Compensation:

37,040 + OTE

Overtime rate:

2x rate on weekends (10pm Friday to 6am Monday) | 1.5x rate midweek

About The Role




In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining all plant equipment and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The position plays a key part in minimising equipment downtime, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and company standards.

Key responsibilities:



Maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical systems within the Port; including forklift trucks, ship to shore cranes, industrial plant, lock date infrastructure and commercial vehicles Installation and maintenance of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems and control circuits Undertaking training as an Authorised Person for operating and maintaining HV distribution equipment Developing an in depth working knowledge of plant equipment and associated drawings in order to minimise downtime when repairs are required Escalating any equipment damage to Supervisory staff and liaise with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs Implementing best practice maintenance techniques to improve reliability efficiency Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure equipment is maintained for efficient plant operation.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to minimising downtime. As the role supports operational continuity, flexibility is key - you should be willing to work overtime when required and be happy to participate in an on-call rota to respond to urgent needs.

Qualifications and Skills:



Time served qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician and have previous experience of working within a heavily industrialised environment Strong working knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLC's and HV/LV would also be advantageous Confident communicator and be able to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders across the business As our working environment comprises quaysides, warehouses and other Port buildings therefore the ability to work at height, in confined spaces and in an outdoors environment is essential Full UK driving licence Full right to work in the UK
