Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: Stort region - Saffron Walden / Harlow
Salary: Up to 50,194 depending on experience (incl. 1 in 5 standby payment)

What You'll Be Doing:
Performing electrical & mechanical fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance on critical water treatment infrastructure.
Interrogating PLC systems and getting hands-on with complex treatment processes.
Conducting planned and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve efficiency.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults to keep downtime to a minimum.
Collaborating with the production team and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Ensuring compliance with water quality and health & safety regulations.
Keeping accurate records and documentation.

What We're Looking For:
Must-Haves:

• City and Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of PLCs, motors, and the ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• A positive, adaptable attitude-you'll be tackling new challenges daily!

Desirable experience

• Experience in the water industry, manufacturing, food production, automotive, or similar fields.

• A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

A Day in the Life of a Production Technician

• No two days are the same! One moment, you could be:
• Climbing water towers for inspections
• Diagnosing and repairing a pump failure
• Investigating an electrical fault inside a control panel
• Carrying out routine calibrations on critical equipment
• Taking a reservoir out of supply for essential maintenance
• Expect a mix of planned work and unexpected challenges-it keeps things exciting!

Interview Process:
Once the advert has closed, the Talent Acquisition Partner managing this recruitment campaign will be in touch to confirm successful and unsuccessful shortlisting for this position.
The Interview will be a face to face interview at our Harlow site and will consist of an hour and a half.
This interview will involve a number of behavioural and technical competency based questions.
Salary:

• Basic 40,137 + Flex Allowance: 4,884 (Salary offered dependent on experience) + additional Stand-by payment: 1 in 5 = 6,830 (separate payment on top of salary)

• Salary total package up to 51,851
