The Electrical Panel Builder / Wireman is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels and systems according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to electrical standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and wire electrical control panels and enclosures according to electrical schematics and layout drawings.
Install components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, switches, and other control devices.
Route and terminate cables, ensuring correct wire identification, labelling, and connection integrity.
Perform functional and continuity testing on panels.
Assist with fault-finding, troubleshooting, and rework of panels when required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., BS EN 60204, IEC, or UL standards as applicable).
Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical or design issues.
Complete all build records, inspection checklists, and quality documentation accurately.
Qualifications
HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering / Installation.
