4Sure Consultancy is partnering exclusively with our Client based in Ilkeston, Derby whilst supporting with a key Talent project for 8 Electrical Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. The Client designs, builds, and delivers innovative control and automation solutions across multiple industries, working closely with customers to meet demanding technical and regulatory requirements.?
The role
As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of electrical and control projects from initial design through to site commissioning and warranty support. You will collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external partners to deliver solutions that are technically robust, compliant with relevant standards, and delivered on time and on budget.?
Key responsibilities include:
Interpreting client requirements and translating them into robust technical solutions.?
Designing system schematics, communications networks (fibre, Ethernet, serial etc.), and PLC/SCADA architectures.?
Working with CAD engineers on panel layouts, ensuring appropriate component spacing, cable routing, and maintainability.?
Producing calculations, process diagrams, flow charts, and state diagrams to define system functionality.?
Developing and maintaining Data Point Schedules, compliance matrices, and associated technical documentation.?
Creating and modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA software in line with internal codes of practice.?
Supporting factory testing: specifying test arrangements, writing test specifications, developing test cases, and witnessing tests with clients.?
Overseeing panel build and hardware manufacture in-house and with external suppliers.?
Planning and carrying out site testing and commissioning, including method statements and risk assessments.?
Updating as-built drawings, producing spares lists, and compiling operation and maintenance documentation and health and safety files.?
Providing warranty support, including site visits to investigate and resolve issues.?
About you
You will be a hands-on engineer who enjoys owning projects end to end and working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will bring:?
Experience in electrical/control systems design, including PLC and SCADA-based solutions.?
Strong understanding of relevant industry standards, laws, and regulations, with a focus on safety and compliance.?
Ability to read and produce electrical drawings, schematics, and functional documentation.?
Practical experience with factory and site testing, defect tracking, and resolution.?
Good communication skills and confidence working directly with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.?
Commitment to quality, health and safety, environmental, and information security standards, ideally with exposure to ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, and 27001 environments.?
