This role offers the opportunity to work in a hands-on service environment, supporting customers through the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of specialist equipment. You'll work closely with customers, engineering and production teams in a role where technical expertise, safety and customer satisfaction genuinely matter. Main purpose of job:
The Electrical Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and fault-finding of electrical systems and equipment, both on customer sites and in-house. The role supports operational delivery by ensuring equipment operates safely, reliably and in line with customer and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission and service electrical systems and machinery on customer sites and in-house
Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs, replacing components where required
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support
Read, interpret and work from electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation
Ensure attendance on site in line with agreed schedules and site induction requirements
Complete service reports, test records and job documentation accurately and on time
Communicate professionally with customers to explain work undertaken and resolve technical issues
Support installation and commissioning activities alongside mechanical and service engineers
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with electrical standards, safe systems of work and company procedures
Comply with all Health & Safety requirements, including the correct use of PPE
Manage tools, test equipment and van stock to ensure readiness for work
Work collaboratively with engineering, production and technical teams
Undertake overnight stays and UK or overseas travel where required
Carry out any other duties reasonably required by management within the scope of the role

Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
Proven experience in an electrical service, installation or maintenance role
Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices
Experience fault-finding on industrial or commercial electrical systems
Desirable
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience working with machinery, control panels or automation systems
Experience in a site-based or customer-facing engineering role
Electrical testing or commissioning experience
