We are looking for an Electrical Site Engineer in our Civil Engineering M&E department, the role will be based wholly within the Republic of Ireland on the Finglas - Ballymun to Dublin city centre Bus and Cycle Lane project.
The Electrically biased Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the identification, diversion, installation and integration of electrical systems within construction project, ensuring they align with civil engineering plans and safety regulations. This role combines electrical engineering expertise with on-site management and problem-solving within a civil engineering framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Checking and Verifying Design and Implementing into Electrical Systems:
Compliance check and overseeing the installation of electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, control systems, etc.) in alignment with civil engineering plans and specifications.
Liaison and overall responsibility for any disconnections and outages.
Supervising During Construction:
Managing electrical contractors, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Ensuring Safety Compliance:
Implementing and enforcing ROI safety regulations related to electrical work on site.
Problem Solving:
Addressing and resolving any electrical issues or challenges that arise during the construction process.
Quality Assurance:
Conducting compliance inspections, and documentation checks to ensure the electrical systems meet project requirements.
Liaising with Stakeholders:
Collaborating with other engineers, clients, Utility DNO and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
Typical Tasks:
Site Surveys and Setup:
Conducting initial site surveys and setting up the electrical infrastructure for the project.
Direct liaison with the Network operators in ROI to arrange diversion, disconnection and new connections.
Reviewing and Interpreting Drawings:
Understanding and implementing electrical and civil engineering drawings.
Material Procurement:
Assisting in the procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
Progress Monitoring:
Tracking the progress of electrical installations and reporting on any deviations from the project plan.
