Job Description

Hector Finch Lighting, one of the UK's leading high end lighting brands are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician with hands-on experience to join their production team in the assembly of lighting products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical wiring, be detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing various lighting fixtures in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and wire lighting products, including LED fixtures, ceiling lights, wall lights, and custom designs. Perform continuity and insulation resistance tests to ensure product functionality and safety. Identify and report any faults, defects, or non-conformities during assembly. Ensure all products meet electrical codes and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper handling of tools and equipment. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality targets.
Requirements:

City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or NVQ Level 3. Proven experience in electrical wiring or assembly, ideally within the lighting or electronics industry. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams. Basic knowledge of electrical components and systems. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with electrical safety standards and best practices. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Experience with low-voltage lighting systems (e.g., LED, 12V/24V systems). Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of UL, CE, or other relevant compliance standards.
