This is a fantastic opportunity for a permanent

Electrician

in HMP Holme House. This role is based on-site, which is accessible by public transport and has free parking available.

There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday; 07:30 - 15:00 Friday; 07:45 - 16:00 Saturday to Sunday.

What you will do:

Planned and preventative electrical maintenance. Responding to breakdowns ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner. Actively fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison. Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations. Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations. Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services. Other tasks as required by the Site This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate. Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.

What you will bring:

Ability to work alone and use initiative. Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at work Regulations. Capable of working at heights. Appropriate technical qualification eg City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above. BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition (however if you currently only have 17th Edition, we will sponsor you to upgrade to the 18th Edition; terms and conditions apply). Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing within a commercial environment. Experience in fire alarm systems and CCTV systems. IT skills.
Prison Security Clearance will be required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 29,005.00-35,015.00 per year
