Electrician Job description

About the role:

To work as part of a team assisting in the delivery of the Council\xe2\x80\x99s Responsive Housing Maintenance Service by carrying out repair and maintenance work on domestic dwellings and related assets. This includes work normally accepted within the building industry as that of an Electrician as well as work which by \xe2\x80\x9cnormal definition\xe2\x80\x9d is that of other trade(s) which may reasonably be expected of any competent person engaged in building maintenance activities.

About you:

  • Experience of carrying out maintenance or repair works in domestic / occupied properties.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and good practice plus how to apply these in the work environment.
  • The ability to deal in an understanding way with members of the public, and other staff members.
  • The ability to work alone, or as part of a team
  • You will be an Experienced Qualified Electrician (e.g., Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ) with 18th Edition Wiring, Inspect & Test (2391), with experience in a similar housing service role.
What you will do:
  • Electrical PPM (pre-planned maintenance)
  • Reactive repairs, and Remedial works
  • Small installations
  • Testing of existing installations
  • Fault finding, and diagnostic work
  • Completion of relevant electrical certificates.
