Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified Electrician with a strong foundation in electrical installation and a genuine interest in developing their career within the fire detection and life safety industry. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced Fire Systems Engineers, gaining training and on-site experience to become a fully qualified Fire Systems Engineer, while still supporting general installation works when required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems
Carry out general electrical installation works where needed
Work alongside senior engineers to develop knowledge of fire alarm systems, fault finding, and maintenance
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications
Ensure all work is completed in line with BS7671 and relevant fire safety standards (BS5839-1 preferred)
Maintain accurate records of works completed and materials used
Adhere to company and site health & safety requirements
Represent Astro Fire Systems professionally at all times
Required Qualifications & Experience
ECS / CSCS Card (Essential)
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation or equivalent
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) preferred
Full UK Driving Licence (clean)
Experience in electrical installation (minimum 2 years desirable)
Some knowledge or exposure to fire alarm systems (e.g. installation, servicing, or commissioning) advantageous
