Why is the role important?



The Electrician works on all aspects of electrical work within properties owned by Bolton at Home, working alongside other trades to deliver a responsive repairs and maintenance service and planned programmes of building refurbishment. The role is important to ensure our customers receive an excellent repairs service that ensures customers are safe in their homes, helping Bolton at Home to achieve our vision of providing quality housing and services as part of our Business Plan and ensure compliance with health and safety and housing standards.


What's involved?


Install, repair and maintain electric installations in our properties. Diagnose, fault find and repair domestic electrical appliances. Install complete rewires, meters and appliances. Undertake inspection and testing. Complete detailed electrical installation condition reports. Inspect and order material for various electrical and maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate records of work by receiving and completing work through our scheduling system (e.g using a PDA). Work in partnership with other colleagues, external contractors and agencies. Communicate the works required and potential timescales to customers, and then what work has been completed, in line with the Repairs Policy. Act as a representative of the organisation when in properties or out on our estates, including signposting customers and reporting issues to the appropriate service.
