About the Role
We are currently seeking a
Electronic
Production Assembly Technician
to join our expanding production and engineering team. This is a
technically focused hands-on role
involving the full production lifecycle -- from prototype builds and sub-assemblies through to final testing and fault finding. The successful candidate will need a
good working knowledge of electronics
as well as a
flexible, team-first mindset
, as the role also involves supporting lower-skill production work on a rotational basis.
You'll be working closely with engineers and other technicians on cutting-edge products and will be expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble prototype electronic units and systems ready for engineering testing
Construct cable assemblies and perform PCB population and soldering
Configure, program, and test company products during final assembly
Carry out functional testing and basic diagnostics using appropriate equipment
Perform routine and final quality checks to company standards
Support general production tasks (e.g. prepping, packaging, basic assembly) as part of a team rotation
Fault find and repair production units where issues are identified
Keep the production area clean, safe, and well-organised
Accurately follow instructions, BOMs, drawings, and technical procedures
Required Skills & Attributes
Proficient in using hand tools for mechanical/electrical assembly
Confident with soldering, wiring, and working on PCBs
Able to read technical drawings and follow structured build procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards
Comfortable working independently or collaboratively within a team
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Basic data entry and tracking using tools such as Microsoft Access
Qualifications & Experience
ONC in Electronics (or equivalent practical qualification/experience)
Relevant industry experience preferred, but recent graduates with hands-on skills will be considered
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access)
Full UK Driving Licence (required)
