The Role

We are looking for an Electronic Component Estimator & Buyer to take on a dual role within the business. The position focuses on two key areas:

1.

Costing PCBA Bills of Materials (BOMs) - accurately pricing electronic components to support customer requirements.

2.

Analysing surplus electronic component inventory.

You must be able to accurately identify and interpret part numbers, manufacturers, and components. The role involves using both in-house systems and external market databases to evaluate component demand, pricing and availability.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Costing

Read, interpret, and cost PCBA Bills of Materials (BOMs) Accurately identify electronic components, manufacturers, and alternatives Price components based on market availability, demand, and lead times

Surplus Stock Analysis

Upload and analyse excess and obsolete component stock lists Assess resale potential, market demand, and commercial value Support decisions around resale, and market availability

Data & Systems

Maintain accurate BOM, pricing, and supplier data within ERP systems Use Excel and external market tools to analyse trends and pricing Produce clear reports to support commercial decision-making

Essential Experience & Skills

Minimum

3 years' experience

working with components (manufacturing, distribution, or brokering). Strong, in-depth knowledge of electronic components (passives, semiconductors, etc.) Confident working with BOMs, part numbers, and technical documentation Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets Ability to read and understand technical drawings Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including sourcing, procurement, inventory management and logistics.
