Job Description

Purpose of the Role:



To competently carry out inspection and verification of electronic assemblies, harnesses, and PCB builds in accordance with IPC standards, ensuring that all products meet defined quality and customer requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:



Perform inspection of electronic components, assemblies, and wiring harnesses to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.

Verify conformance of soldering, crimping, and assembly workmanship to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections on both prototype and production builds.

Ensure no non-conforming products are released to customers.

Prepare and maintain detailed inspection records and traceability documentation.

Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and FAIR reporting activities.

Identify and report quality issues, participating in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Assist in maintaining calibration control of inspection and measurement equipment.

Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve build quality and process consistency.

Participate in continuous improvement activities aimed at achieving zero defects.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised inspection area in accordance with 5S standards.

Ensure compliance with ISO9001 quality management system procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:



IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified (mandatory).

Skills and experience to meet Class 3 requirements in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and IPC-7711/7721.

Extensive experience in visual inspection of electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses.

Strong understanding of electronic drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.

Proficiency with manual inspection tools (e.g., microscopes, magnifiers, multimeters, continuity testers).

Good understanding of ESD precautions and handling requirements.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently under minimal supervision.

High attention to detail and quality awareness.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Competent in using PCs for documentation and quality reporting.

Experience in a high-technology or aerospace/defence manufacturing environment desirable.

Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 32,000.00-38,000.00 per year
