Autonomous robots are core to Dexory's product offering. We design, build, and test in-house at our HQ in Wallingford. Now we're hiring an Electronics Technician to join Electronics Production. You'll build mission-critical wiring looms and electro-mechanical components. This is a results focused role: quality, speed, and ownership are the fundamentals. You own your cell, your tools, your output and the standard of work. If a fast-changing environment and minimal supervision make you uneasy, this isn't your role.
The job is on-site in Wallingford with occasional customer visits (a full UK driving license is ideal). We run tight comms loops, daily reviews and fast feedback. You don't walk past problems; you own and fix them. If something's unclear, you propose and implement the fix today, not " sometime next sprint."
Team over ego: you mentor and share knowledge, pair on tricky rework and make everybody faster. We love what we are building, we build to spec and we ship these incredible robots globally.
Your work will be divided between sub-system assembly and product assembly.
Build of wiring looms and sub-assemblies as defined by the work instruction
Assembly of the product as defined by the work instructions
Support the assembly, rework and debug process of the robots for various practices, as well as the wider business to see that business objectives are achieved
Drive continuous improvement ensuring latest technologies and techniques are used throughout the product as well as assembly process.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble complex electrical and electronics assemblies according to technical drawings, wiring schematics, and assembly instructions.
Build, route, and inspect custom cable harnesses and wire assemblies according to schematics and build documentation.
Assemble and integrate printed circuit boards (PCBs) into electromechanical subassemblies and enclosures.
Perform precision soldering (through-hole and SMT rework) and crimping to industry standards.
Conduct visual inspections and functional tests on harnesses, boards, and subassemblies.
Assist in debugging and reworking faulty assemblies using standard test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
Maintain detailed build documentation and support continuous improvement through feedback to engineering.
Follow ESD-safe practices and maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.
Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and fellow technicians to support full system builds.
Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and functional tests on completed assemblies.
Perform troubleshooting and rework of faulty assemblies with minimal supervision.
Document build issues and provide feedback for design improvements or manufacturability.
Work closely with engineers and production leads to ensure high quality and consistency.
Adhere to production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
