The opportunity
We are looking for an Emergency Planning Group Head to provide support across Nuclear Operations and New Nuclear Build Projects, supporting performance and program delivery while leading a team of Emergency Planning Officers.
Within this role, we support hybrid or remote working with frequent travel around the fleet required, and occasional travel to our Gloucester office.

What you'll be doing
You will lead a team of Emergency Planning Officers and will be accountable for:
Providing support across Nuclear Operations and for New Nuclear Build Projects to support performance and program delivery
Creating trusting relationships with internal and external regulators, particularly the Office for Nuclear Regulation
Supporting the Emergency Planning Branch Manager in setting and delivering the strategic objectives for the Branch, including long term capability plans
Identifying and delivering opportunities for continual improvement and organisational collaboration internal and external to EDF
Managing staff health, well-being, their personal development and competencies
Creating an inclusive work environment recognising and respecting cultural differences across the organisation
Prioritising and shaping the activities of your team to meet business needs
Providing support to the department by resolving issues that require escalation
Providing functional assurance across the Nuclear Operations business, including at our Nuclear Power Stations
Maintaining and improvement Emergency Planning procedures
Providing performance monitoring and insights to a wide range of stakeholders
Who you are
You'll bring at least an HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant field, though a degree is a definite plus. With strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly, you're confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels. You have experience working with or as a regulator--ideally in the nuclear or other high-hazard industries--and are either chartered or working towards chartered status with a relevant professional body.
