About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded
Group Head of Marketing
to lead the marketing strategy across Compton Group's diverse portfolio of businesses. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining big-picture thinking with day-to-day coordination to ensure all marketing output is consistent, effective, and aligned with business goals.
You'll enjoy plenty of variety, with the chance to work across very different brands - from e-commerce to travel and skincare. You'll also manage and support a remote team based in Chennai, India, with the opportunity to visit them for one week each year.
Businesses to be promoted:
Direct Tile Warehouse
, which sells tiles to the public and trade through showrooms in Swansea and Cardiff, and online.
Authentic India Tours
, which offers tours in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Maydi+
, a new skincare range nased on Frankincense and recently launched by the Group.
Compton Outsourcing
, which to date has offered back office services only within the Group, but which now wants to offer its services to third party clients.
Strategic Leadership
Set the direction for all marketing activity across the Group.
Work closely with the CEO to align marketing priorities with wider business objectives.
Manage the overall marketing budget, ensuring spending is strategic and results-driven.
Support the evaluation of new business opportunities.
Leading the Marketing Team
Lead and support a remote team of three (Digital Marketing Manager, Marketing Assistant, Graphic Designer - all based in Chennai).
Provide clear guidance, structure, and feedback to ensure smooth collaboration and strong output.
Website & Product Oversight
Oversee updates for:
New tours on the Authentic India Tours site.
Tile stock and imagery on the Direct Tile Warehouse site.
Make sure all online content is accurate, engaging, and optimised for SEO.
Campaigns & Promotions
Plan and review marketing activity for:
New tile ranges, seasonal campaigns, and in-store promotions.
New tours, offers, and marketing collateral.
Ensure campaigns are rolled out effectively across all channels.
Oversee regular blog posts and newsletters.
Content & Brand Consistency
Proofread social media posts and other team-created content.
Sign off all digital and printed materials before release to maintain a high standard.
Data & Insight
Monitor web traffic, PPC campaigns, and conversion rates to inform future decisions.
Carry out competitor research and analyse customer data to refine strategies.
Keep up to date with marketing trends and tools.
PR & Partnerships
Oversee online PR efforts and media outreach.
Manage relationships with external agencies, suppliers, and freelancers.
Events & Representation
Organise trade fair participation, including logistics and promotional material.
Represent
Authentic India Tours
at events as a brand ambassador and sales representative.
Recruitment & Internal Support
Assist line managers with recruitment campaigns - from creating adverts to managing responses.
Occasionally help with tour itineraries and quotes when the travel team needs an extra hand.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
3 years in a senior marketing role, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or travel.
Proven success in delivering multi-channel campaigns and achieving measurable results.
Strong leadership and team management experience, including working with remote teams.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Budget management
Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills.
A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
Desirable:
Familiar with SEO, PPC, CRM and online analytics.
Comfortable attending trade shows and public-facing events.

Working Hours & Benefits
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (start between 8-9 am, and finish between 4-5 pm).
Based in our Morriston, Swansea office, near J45 of the M4. We ideally would like the postholder to be based in the office 5 days a week, but we would consider 3 days with 2 working from home for the right person.
Annual trip to Chennai to spend time with your team.
