Overview





The postholder will play a key supporting role in the Management School Employability Team, reporting to the School's Employability Adviser and liaising with colleagues in the Faculty Employability Team and across the Careers & Employability Service.



Specific duties will include administering students' company projects process, communicating with staff and students as appropriate. Support will also be provided for other key employability activities which are embedded within the School's portfolio of programmes, for example Futures First modules and the PPCD module (Personal, Professional and Career Development programme). The role also requires the maintenance of administration processes, databases and web pages, the dissemination of materials for students, and organisation of various employability events.


Main duties and responsibilities




Work with the Management School Employability Advisor and colleagues to administer a smooth and efficient process for company projects including, although not exclusively, the annual planning cycle, preparation of briefing materials for students and preparing students for engagement with and participation in their project. Liaise with internal / external stakeholders around company projects in conjunction with the External Engagement team. Provide administrative support for placements following University policy and processes, using systems as required. This includes the advertisement of placement opportunities, provision of guidance to students, organisation of placement visits, attendance monitoring and placement approval process, following Maintain and review operations documentation including relevant handbooks and staff information. Support the Placement Officer with the provision of internship opportunities for current students. Provide administrative support across a range of employability initiatives and projects. Support the organisation of employability events including logistics, communications and liaison with external organisations and other University teams. Operational delivery of the Employability Ambassadors Scheme, including processes and logistics for recruitment and training. Deal with routine student enquiries, referring students to Employability & Placement Hubs and the central Careers & Employability services as appropriate and updating the enquiry database. Collate feedback from employability events. Support the collation and reporting of employability data. Maintain information stands regarding placement and employment information. Collate material for, and preparation of, regular bulletins circulated to the School's student community. Create and post regular content on the team's social media channels. Maintain and update the School's employability web pages and digital screens. Develop and establish networks across the University. Produce and maintain written documentation detailing processes and procedures related to own role, to enable cover in absence. Provide cover for elements of work undertaken by colleagues during absence. As a member of our Professional staff you will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the professional behaviours set out in the Sheffield Professional Framework. Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
