Job Description

The Growth Company's (GC) Employment team has an exciting new opportunity for a Restart Employment Advisor to deliver a range of guidance and training services for unemployed people, contributing to individuals' progression into employment, training, and education.
We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment. Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver advice, guidance, and training interventions for unemployed individuals.
  • Operate referral and liaison procedures with agencies like JCP, local partners, colleges, employers, and training providers.
  • Establish and deliver one-to-one and group activities, including assessments, inductions, and job search sessions.
  • Ensure each customer has an up-to-date CV and refer them to appropriate internal and external agencies.
  • Maintain regular interaction with customers through various communication methods.
  • Assist customers in planning and deciding on options to meet their needs.
  • Participate in activities that support the team and Growth Company, such as tender/bid writing and developing new services.

  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent administration, accuracy, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a warm, pleasant demeanour.
  • Good rapport-building and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and confident.
  • Ability to challenge and negotiate effectively.
Skills Required:
  • Experience in sales, customer service, or the welfare-to-work industry.
  • Proven track record of working to targets and key performance indicators.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment methods, and growth industries.
  • Understanding of welfare-to-work, training, education, and employment opportunities.
  • Knowledge of guidance and national standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-performance environment.
  • Effective team player with well-developed IT skills.
  • Flexible approach to work, including willingness to travel and work occasional unsociable hours.
