As an Employment Law and HR Advisor, you will be required to:
Answer and direct phone calls when required
Review legal documents (including Terms and Conditions of Employment, policies, forms etc) and advise clients accordingly ensuring legislative requirements are met
Compile individual Terms and Conditions of Employment and associated documents.
Research and compile Legal Updates for our clients
Support the Employment Law and Human Resources team with administrative tasks, in addition to other team members of the Company as and when directed, for example note taking at meetings, bundle preparation, assisting with letter preparation, drafting of memo's etc
Have the knowledge and understanding to provide Employment Law advice to the clients e.g. family friendly, disciplinary, grievance, sickness, performance management, dismissals, redundancy, Working Time Regulations, Equality Act 2010, TUPE and statutory legislation etc.
Run your own client case load ensuring all deadlines/KPI's are met, in addition to ensuring that the clients are updated of the process, and where applicable costs
Carry out a monthly review on internal documents as assigned, ensuring that they are in line with current legislation, best practice and working practices
Conduct Legal analysis and research legal matters, providing detailed advice as to specific scenarios
Provide legal services in a professional matter and adhering to all professional codes of conduct as applicable (i.e. Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Solicitors Regulation Authority, CIPD)
Compile polices and training documents/seminars and other requested legal/HR documents
Manage capability queries, including liaising with third parties such as Occupational Health in line with Employment Law and the clients instructions
Prepare and provide advice for on-site investigations/disciplinary/grievance/appeal hearings in line with good practice and employment legislation
To liaise appropriately and timely with clients, employees/claimants and/or their legal representatives
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of Employment Law practices, where they will be tasked with providing advice in a format our clients will understand. Communication is a vital aspect of the role, and the desire to communicate effectively with people at all levels whether verbally and written will be essential.
With a client/respondent focus, the opportunity will suit an individual who has a strong commercial acumen where they understand and learn about each business, they work with to provide them with the best possible service. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
A minimum qualification of a CILEx Level 6, Law Degree, LPC, CIPD Level 5 (or equivalents) are preferred, with an Employment Law module being a necessity. In exceptional circumstances, experience without qualifications will be considered.
A full and clean driving licence and their own vehicle is preferred but not essential.
Due to the type of work undertaken and the complexities, the role is office based.
