Primarily based in our Bury St Edmunds offices there may be some days working from home according to availability of in-office desk space and the requirements of the team you're working with. Some weeks you may be entirely office based, at other times you may be working from home one to two days a week.

You'll be advising both employers and employees across a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

We're growing our Employment team and are looking for an experienced Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE to join our team.

About the role
You'll manage a varied caseload and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our Employment team.
Typical work will include:
Advising on contracts of employment, staff handbooks, and HR policies
Supporting employers on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and TUPE matters
Handling Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to representation
Providing strategic guidance on employment status, settlement agreements, and restrictive covenants
Drafting and negotiating contracts, settlement terms, and other employment-related documentation
Contributing to business development through networking and supporting client relationships
What we're looking for
5+ years' PQE in Employment Law
Proven experience advising both employer and employee clients
Comfortable supporting team growth and taking part in business development activity
Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
Exposure to partnership, director or senior executive disputes
Strong technical knowledge with the ability to give pragmatic, commercial advice
Confident in managing your own caseload and working independently
Comfortable contributing to business development and attending events
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working arrangements
Typically in one of our offices depending on geographical convenience, needs of clients and the team, occasional days from home
Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Occasional travel between offices may be required
Own car essential
