Who are we looking for?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor to join us at Associate level. The successful candidate will have 2+ years PQE, and will work closely with our Employment team.
The work will involve providing advice and support on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and advisory, to our commercial client base. The work will be varied and will include advising on disciplinary, capability and grievance action, restructure and redundancy, settlement agreements as well as Employment Tribunal cases. The post holder will also assist senior members of the team on large complex matters, as well as providing support to our Corporate and Commercial team on business transfers.
The post holder will also fully participate in aspects of the team's business development initiatives including seminars, workshops, on-line development and bulletins.
While we are primarily seeking an Associate Solicitor to be based in Cumbria, we are also open to applications from more senior Employment Lawyers. For the right senior candidate, we would consider remote working or a base at our Citygate office in Newcastle. We therefore welcome interest from individuals with varying levels of experience.
The successful candidate will have a proactive, 'can-do' attitude to enable them to work closely with a team of legal fee-earners, paralegals and legal assistants on all aspects of this work, and may have a fee earning target themselves. The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
What do we offer?
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate with the potential for longer-term career advancement in our forward-thinking law firm, with a well-established client base. Along with this we will provide you with a competitive salary, pension, 30 days holiday and Private Medical Health Insurance; in addition, we will even give you your birthday off every year too!
