They analyse client needs, develop people and organisation strategies. These individuals offer guidance and support to help clients optimise their workforce, enhance employee engagement, and drive organisational effectiveness. Those in employment law, tax and payroll at PwC will specialise in providing comprehensive legal and financial consulting services related to human resources. You will work closely with clients to confirm compliance with employment law and tax requirements. You will be responsible for providing guidance on employment contracts, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and help organisations mitigate legal risks, optimise tax strategies, and confirm compliance with regulations to support effective human resource management.
Our Employment Tax, Incentives and Payroll (ETIP) team sits within our Workforce team, as part of our wider Tax and Legal practice. Workforce is built up of specialist teams who provide advice and support to manage organisational and people challenges, delivering tailored solutions to each of our clients.


As part of the ETIP team you'll help clients ensure that they are paying employees correctly and paying the correct tax.

The role:




This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the ETIP team as an Employment Tax adviser. The role would be responsible for advising management teams in a number of areas relating to employment based regulations, across a wide range of clients spanning all sectors and including UK listed (PLC and AIM) and unlisted (family, private equity-backed) businesses. The scope of the role is wide and will vary depending on the needs of our clients. Responsibilities will include the following areas (although this is not exhaustive);

Advising clients on employment taxes and social security compliance of remuneration packages for employees based on UK legislation, including reporting requirements Advising clients in respect of international employment tax, including coordinating global employment tax advice from network firms and ad-hoc advice in respect of the employment tax and social security implications for international moves Advising clients on paying staff in line with UK legislation including National Minimum Wage, Holiday Pay etc Assisting clients with putting benefit structures into place including salary sacrifice arrangements Advising companies on how they engage with off-payroll workers and putting governance structures to ensure that the tax assessments are completed correctly Advising clients in respect of the application of the Construction Industry Scheme Assisting clients build fit for purpose internal governance structures to ensure robust management of employment taxes and pay regulations Assisting clients with HMRC enquiries or making disclosures to HMRC where errors have been identified Assisting with client management, including risk processes, timely billing and cash collection Informal and formal training of more junior members of the team

Essential skills and experience:



Experience of working in employment taxes, either in-house or within a consultancy practice ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT qualification (desirable) Able to manage own time Able to deliver bespoke written and oral advice to clients in a simple way Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team effectively Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace * Strong report writing skills
