The End User Computing Engineer is a key and valued member of the DevOps Team. As such, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of IT engineers & specialists who are responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, and maintenance of ISGs End User Devices and various other DevOps functions.

This role requires a strong technical background in end user computing technologies, along with a solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

As well as creating innovative solutions, you will also be leading to support, package and monitor our users End User devices, creating automation solutions using a \xe2\x80\x9ccloud first\xe2\x80\x9d mantra. In addition, you will be helping to diagnose the root causes of issues using your problem-solving skills to produce permanent solutions that ensure that problems never reoccur.

Daily Role Requirements

This is a hands-on role for an End User Computing Engineer who wants to be part of a new product driven organisation and influence the development, build and ongoing upkeep of ISG\'s digital transformation.

You will be within of a team of EUC (End User Computing) engineers working.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement end user computing solutions, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related software applications.
  • Leverage tools and technologies, such as SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager), Intune, and Patch My PC, to streamline deployment, configuration, and patch management processes.
  • Adhere to industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance in all end user computing implementations.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless integration of end user computing solutions with the overall IT infrastructure and application landscape.
  • Design and implement robust connectivity and communication mechanisms between end user devices and backend systems.
  • Embrace and implement DevOps practices, methodologies, and toolsets to drive automation, collaboration, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in end user computing operations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Provide timely and effective resolution of end user computing incidents and problems within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with support teams and vendors to resolve escalated issues and ensure minimal impact to end users.
  • Identify and implement proactive measures to minimize recurring incidents and problems.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles, user guides, and training materials to empower end users and support staff.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the end user computing and DevOps domains and share knowledge with the team.
  • Implement security measures and remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities and maintain the integrity of the Cyber Essentials+ accreditation.
  • Help develop and execute upgrade and training plans to facilitate a seamless migration to Windows 11.
  • Utilise tools & applications such as SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), MSI, App-V, or other relevant technologies to create standardized application packages.

Skills & experience

You will have experience in a similar role within key cloud and/or EUC platform services along with a few key technical skills which may include;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in end user computing
  • Proficiency in end user computing technologies, including SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), Intune, and Patch My PC for software deployment, configuration management, and patch management.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure integration, including network connectivity, Active Directory, and cloud services.
  • Experience with application packaging using tools such as SCCM, MSI, App-V, or other relevant technologies.
  • Experience in scripting and automating specifically using common scripting language (PowerShell/Bash/.NET)
  • Knowledge of application compatibility testing and remediation techniques.
  • Experience with incident and problem management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Cyber Essentials+ framework and maintaining accreditation.
  • Experience in planning and executing Windows operating system upgrades, including Windows 11.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
