We have an exciting opportunity for a QA & Test Lead to join our EMRS team on permanent basis.



Team Overview:



We are the Settlements Services Provider. We deliver settlement for the Contract for Difference (CFD) and the Capacity Market (CM). We have been appointed by DESNZ, and are acting on behalf of the Low Carbon Contracts Company (the CFD Counterparty) and the Electricity Settlements Company (the CM Settlement Body). The Settlement Services Operations function consists of first line finance and operations teams, customer engagement and document management and a team responsible for testing of all key systems. The principle responsibilities of the function is to ensure accurate and timely settlement of all CFD and CM costs, in line with contractual Service Measures and Key Performance Indicators. A number of processes are carried out and maintained to deliver this effectively as well as a robust testing regime which ensures changes and projects are delivered accurately and on time.



Job Purpose:





Reporting to the Test Manager the QA and Test Lead works with all EMRS programme stakeholders to ensure that the quality metrics are reviewed, closed and agreed upon. They will define the QA & Testing Strategy and ensure the Quality Matrix is understood and utilised by the workstreams, and provide ongoing Assurance throughout the lifecycle of the Programme


The QA and Test Lead will promote and implement best practices in Quality Assurance and Testing within the Programme.


This will be achieved by maintaining a framework within which EMRS and our third party service providers can apply a consistent approach to Testing, and by implementing and maintaining testing plans.

Key Responsibilities:



Create and maintain QA Strategies, ensuring that a range of testing; unit, functional, performance, stress, acceptance etc. are covered. Work closely with Multi- Vendors / Suppliers and Industry Participants to develop appropriate testing approaches and plans Validate the testing against the agreed Test strategy for the Programme Review levels of testing being undertaken, including system testing, regression testing, non- functional testing and integration testing to Operation Acceptance Testing Validate quality of Multi-Vendor / Suppliers testing by review of Test Plan and Test materials In conjunction with SMEs and Business, identify and discuss gaps in the data capture process and formulate the approach to be adopted to ensure all critical information is captured for Test Cases and Defects such that Standard and Customized Identify and remediate gaps in linkage between Test Case, Test Execution and Defects to implement process for eliminating the gaps to establish Bi-Directional Traceability Matrix Work closely Design & Change Delivery Teams to meet Project deadlines. Champion Quality driven delivery for the workstreams and identify, implement and enforce Quality processes throughout the delivery lifecycle Lead Quality process definition for the programme, including formal and informal review, testing and inspection regimes.

Capabilities and competencies:



Critical:





+ Expertise on Agile Practice + Good expertise on Azure DevOps + Have good knowledge on QA Shift Left methodology + Have experience working with multiple suppliers and Management team + Demonstrable experience of leading testing activities within remote teams + Minimum 5 years' experience of working as a QA and Test Lead / Test Lead

Developmental / Desirable:





+ Have Safe Agile Experience + Data, analytics, business intelligence based system testing experience preferred + API and micro services based applications and platforms testing experience preferred + Experience testing for companies/projects related to the UK Electricity industry
