Job Description


This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented data professional to make an impact on an ambitious engagement strategy at one of the world\'s top 200 universities. Supporting fundraising and engagement activities across the University, including Henley Business School, the Engagement Data Manager leads a team responsible for development services, managing internal and external data requests and overseeing data management in our alumni and stakeholder CRM.

The Engagement Services team manages the University\'s alumni, supporter and stakeholder CRM (currently Raiser\'s Edge) and associated systems, maintaining, segmenting and transferring data to support a wide range of communication, engagement and fundraising activities. The Engagement Data Manager plays a vital role in providing effective information resources, systems and processes to enable development of relationships with a broad range of alumni and stakeholders, and in supplying strategic data-driven insight to maximise the success of fundraising and engagement teams.

ABOUT YOU

Skilled in manipulating and analysing large data sets, you will have experience of CRM or database management and a clear understanding of principles of data segmentation for communication and marketing. You\'ll have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to interpret data requests from a range of internal stakeholders. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise your workload and balance multiple deadlines. The team\'s work involves collaborating very closely with a wide range of colleagues up to and including director level with a varying amount of technical knowledge, so you must have effective and confident verbal and written communication skills.

You\'ll be highly motivated, strategic and proactive. You\'ll work with energy and confidence to lead the team in delivering a high level of service.

Main duties of the role will include:

  • Create and run data queries, segmenting data and extracting reports.
  • Advise colleagues on best practices for data selection to support communication and fundraising activity.
  • Transfer data between systems, including new alumni data imports.
  • Conduct regular data integrity checks.
  • Train and support users of the alumni and stakeholder CRM.
  • Establish appropriate data handling processes and guidelines for internal stakeholders.
  • Be aware of and comply with UK General Data Protection Regulation, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards and other such privacy and data protection legislation as may be applicable in order to ensure a very high level of accuracy and maintain strict confidentiality of personal and financial data
  • Provide line management and support to Data Assistants and Gift Administration Officer.
