We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised data manager to work on the NeoDeco study, a hybrid implementation-effectiveness cluster randomised trial of optimised kangaroo care as an infection prevention control intervention in high-technology neonatal care. NeoDeco is part of the NeoIPC project, a Horizon Europe funded project sponsored by Penta Foundation (Padova, Italy) and comprising several innovative work packages including a clinical practice network, surveillance toolkit and the NeoDeco trial. More details on specific activities can be found here: The main role of the post holder is to support the trial management team and participating sites to collect high quality data and samples, including data curation, cleaning and analysis. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and complete maintenance of the study database(s) and associated documentation involving direct communication with collaborators from around Europe.

The post holder will be expected to:

  • To design case report forms and REDCap databases according to study requirements
  • To input, clean and manage data using REDCap and according to protocol and monitoring requirements
  • To show meticulous attention to detail in maintaining the accuracy of data collected, including audit trails
  • To undertake predefined data analyses
  • To provide senior members of staff with detailed data exports and create reports, highlighting data issues and indicating areas for improvement.
  • To ensure data is gathered, maintained and accessed in strict accordance with Data Protection Legislation
  • To undertake and maintain GCP training, obtain certification and abide by governance regulations
  • To liaise with other researchers involved with this and other similar studies
