LOVO is a learning and well-being centre , dedicated to supporting, empowering, and equipping vulnerable women and their families. Based in Southwark but working across London, we provide a safe space where women can access essential services, build skills, and connect with a supportive community. Through a range of programs, including volunteering and ESOL initiatives for migrant and refugee women, we aim to address barriers to inclusion and create pathways to a better future. Due to the vulnerability and safeguarding issues relating to these women, this job is best suited for a woman who understands the challenges faced by women in these marginalised communities.
Time of Work
20 hours per week
16 per hour
4 days a week for 52 weeks ( Monday - Thursday ) in-person at our site in Southwark, London
Some flexibility required for occasional outreach opportunities on weekends, weekdays or evenings (to be agreed in advance)

About the role
We are looking for someone who can support the organisation's efforts to expand our reach by continuously engaging new service users, volunteers, and partners in our work . We have several statutory partners and are keen to expand our partnerships with more referrals and service users accessing our weekly women's day centre and other courses/ activities that we offer .
This role involves:
Identifying and strengthening relationships with both existing and new partners.
Developing and implementing outreach and engagement activities, such as organisational visits, organising community engagement events etc.
. Recruiting and managing new volunteers using our existing systems for induction and supervision.
Actively seeking and engaging new volunteers from our ESOL programme and the broader community.
. Actively seeking and engaging new service users to take up our scheduled courses/ activities
. Managing volunteer weekly expenses / payment
. Monitoring Report on outreach and engagement activities with partners, volunteers and service users using simple monitoring and evaluation processes to assess impact
Essential Skills
Educated to at least
Level 3
or above in a relevant discipline, with experience in volunteering and/or community engagement activities .
Ability to effectively promote LOVO and recruit new service users and partners.
A solid understanding of
health and safety requirements
related to community events and volunteering.
. Ability to use
MS Office
to create simple reports, presentations, and spreadsheets.
knowledge and implementation of
community engagement approaches and techniques
, such as the use of social media to expand engagement activities .
Confident and sensitive in addressing diverse audiences and facilitating discussions in various settings.
Excellent

Multilingual candidates preferred
but not compulsory - Proficiency in more than one language is highly advantageous, particularly for engaging with diverse community members.

Additional Information
This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
References will be required for this role as well as DBS . However, if you get the job, DBS can be arranged if you don't have one in place.
