Salary: 29,849 per annum

Location: Regular travel to Woodberry Wetlands, Walthamstow Wetlands and Camley Street Natural Park, with ad hoc travel to additional sites



Flexible working:

Role & Responsibilities





Our Engagement Officer will play a key role in developing and delivering a diverse calendar of public events that connect a wide range of audiences with nature and London Wildlife Trust's mission. Based mainly at our key visitor centre sites, with activity across other visitor hubs and partner sites, the role involves planning, promoting, and evaluating engaging experiences--from wildlife workshops to family adventure trails--while ensuring smooth coordination with partners and the wider team.



Support the planning, promotion and delivery of the public events programme across London Wildlife Trust's visitor hub sites Collaborate with external facilitators and partners to co-create engaging, safe and inclusive events Research new ideas and trends to keep the events programme fresh, relevant, and impactful Work with the Marketing & Communications team to promote events and provide content for social media and campaigns Coordinate the operational delivery of events, including setup, facilitation, and pack down Supervise and support sessional staff and volunteers during events and activities Monitor and evaluate public engagement impact through feedback, surveys, and data tracking Ensure all activities comply with health & safety standards and contribute to wider team and partnership initiatives

Demonstrable experience in designing, coordinating, and delivering public events and activities Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences across different channels Strong organisational skills with the ability to promote and deliver inclusive, high-quality experiences Good understanding of health & safety practices, with a proactive and solution-focused approach Committed to creating a welcoming visitor experience, with adaptability, initiative, and a passion for inclusion
