We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Engineers at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support , Royal Air Force (RAF) Fairford, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



The primary purpose of this position is to serve to perform facilities engineering program and project management for AFIMSC for a variety of funding sources to include Military Construction Program; Military Family Housing; Non-appropriated Funds Program; Base Realignment and Closure; North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and other US and host nation funding programs as appropriate. Position performs duties at RAF Fairford. You will executes projects for substantial new construction, renovations, and improvements for real property facilities, encompassing highly specialized or unique requirements, in accordance with all DoD, Air Force, international agreements, and applicable host nation laws and regulations. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other expert personnel at federal agencies, higher headquarters and installation organizations, host nation agencies, other military services, and private organizations to ensure effective identification, evaluation, and provide a unique solution to complex engineering project management issues. In addition you will provide resource management support and technical expertise to activities, staff, installations, and other organizations in order to resolve difficult/unusual facilities planning, design, construction, and/or maintenance problems/issues.

You must possess a degree in the subject matter related field (Engineering) and a year's specialized experience, or a combination of college level education (HND/BTEC Level 5, City and Guilds Level 5 or NVQ Level 5 in the subject matter related field and a minimum of three year's specialized experience directly related to the role.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



1. Professional knowledge of a wide range of engineering or architectural theories, concepts, principles, practices, techniques and methods to apply advanced concepts and principles to building design, construction processes, and project management

2. Thorough knowledge of design/construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials, and contracting procedures relevant to executing assigned contracts/projects.

3. Knowledge of current U.S. and UK laws and regulations, as they pertain to Facility Engineering.

4. Knowledge of standard programming, budget, and funding processes.

5. Ability to forecast, develop, and evaluate resource requirements pertaining to assigned project(s), and develop concise written technical information appropriate for any specific audience.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal, local, and Host Nation government and industry

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



1. You may be required to travel away from normal duty station for TDY or training as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.

2. You are required to file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment, and annually thereafter in accordance with DODD 5500.7.

3. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position.

4. You may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

5. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.

6. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a Fixed Schedule (Mon-Fri 0800-1630) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
