We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Engineer - Activity Management Planner at the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom.
What will be your primary role?
The primary purpose of this position is to serve in the Operations Flight as the Activity Management Planner (AMP) providing detailed data analysis for planning, budgeting, executing and assessing investment programs. The AMP Manager will be responsible for overseeing and collating data from the relevant sub-AMPs to aid the respective AMPs for integration into the BCAMP, along with defining/prioritizing requirements and working to resolve issues. They will be functionally responsible to ensure the inventory of built and network assets reflects a sufficient level of detail to manage condition and evaluate repair/replacement recommendations using sound technical knowledge of built assets and its data. The post holder will conduct/support staff assistance visits along with inspection and compliance visits and independently conducts quality assurance reviews of SMS data ensuring a true reflection of system status. The incumbent will provide project technical support by means of design reviews, progress meeting attendance, O&M Manual reviews and handover acceptance of projects to Operations Flight. Provide guidance and technical knowledge for the execution of the Planned preventative Maintenance program. Giving computed based knowledge. Plan, organize, and direct the Activity Management Plan actions in the Operations Flight Optimization Section.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?
1. Knowledge of engineering and/or Asset planning principles, methods, and Air Force investment processes for the development of a composite installation and public complex.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting System (PPBS).
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections; research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
5. Ability to analyze and plan the work to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal and local government, and industry.
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
5. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency. Inspections may be conducted in "hard-hat" areas and may require walking, bending, climbing, and stooping.
7. Appropriate professional registration/certification is desired but not required.
8. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a fixed schedule (Mon-Fri) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
9. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid Category B driver's license is required for the position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in an appropriate discipline to the position (General Engineer, Architect, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) together with Specialized Experience.
OR
- A combination of college level education (HND/City & Guilds Level 5/BTEC Level 5/NVQ level 5 or above) in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position (General Engineer, Architect, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) together with three years of specialized experience in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.
