We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of at the , Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Sub Activity Management Planner. The individual will assist other Flights in related sub-activity management plans for Airfield Pavements, Pavements, Electrical, Water and Wastewater, HVAC, Mechanical Distribution, Environmental, Housing and Facility Space. They will plan, organize, and support the Activity Management Planner (AMP) with Sub Activity Management Planning activities as well as hold formal quarterly meetings to inform the shops of project progress, current developments, take shop concerns for assets and evaluate for future projects.

They will be responsible for managing the technical, engineering, and administrative operations for optimizing installation strategic planning and activity/asset performance and representing the Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. The Sub-Amp is responsible for Reviewing asset inventory with regards to the asset performance and cost accounting data and identify any abnormalities in the expected life cycle performance.

Qualification Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in an appropriate discipline to the position (General Engineer, Architect, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) together with Specialized Experience

OR

- Bachelors Degree in an appropriate discipline to the position (General Engineer, Architect, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) together with 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PH.D degree or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

- A combination of education (City & Guilds/ NVQ/ BTEC/ HND at Level 5 or above, in General Engineer, Architect, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer) together with specialized experience in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



1. Knowledge of professional engineering and/or Asset planning principles, methods, and investment processes for the development of a composite installation and public complex.

2. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and the planning, programming, budgeting system.

3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and host nation regulations, practices, and procedures.

4. Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of installation natural/built infrastructure.

5. Ability to analyze and plan the work to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including national and local government, and industry.

7. Proficient on the use of Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.

2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.

3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.

4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

5. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

6. May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency. Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

7. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on an a Fixed schedule (Mon-Fri) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.

8. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, CAT B valid driver's license may be required.

9. Inspections may be conducted in "hard-hat" areas and may require walking, bending, climbing, and stooping.

10. Appropriate professional registration/certification is desired but not required.
