You will be joining the Development Team within Highways, a successful, supportive, and collaborative team with a wealth of experience.

What you can expect to be doing:





This diverse and exciting role includes providing specialist technical advice, coordinating activity with third parties to deliver a range of projects and/or services including:


providing highway and transport advice on planning applications technical reviews and site visits developing innovative, practical transport initiatives to deliver transport infrastructure to support sustainable economic development, housing growth, new local and neighbourhood plans you will also play a key part in working with a range of partners and organisations to support sustainable/active travel and create safe, healthy and people friendly places using your excellent negotiation skills to secure S106 contributions represent the Council in various external forums as appropriate.

About you:





You will be educated to at least HNC/HND standard in civil engineering or a related subject and have experience and knowledge of current highway design, Transport Assessments/Statements, and local planning legislation, procedures and techniques.



Professional Membership of a relevant body is desirable and will demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and that you have gained significant post qualification experience within this field.



You will have excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills, be prepared to represent the Council in various forums, and have a pragmatic, solution finding approach to your work and managing others.




The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
