The Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation & maintenance
of all machinery and equipment involved in our manufacturing facilities.
Accountabilities and responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all bottling equipment, including filling, capping, labeling, and packaging machines.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic issues with bottling machinery to ensure continuous operation.
Installation: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper setup and integration into existing production lines.
Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure machinery is operating within specified parameters and producing high-quality products.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Training: Provide training and support to operators and other maintenance personnel on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
Facilities support: Provide support as required to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
Scope /scale
Level of Authority: Must be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day engineering decisions. Accountable for identifying and resolving technical issues, implementing improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Able to act as technical lead on specific projects or initiatives.
Budget governance: Accountable for managing spend related to urgent engineering issues, including breakdowns, safety-critical repairs, and unplanned maintenance. May also support budget planning for small-scale improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and contractor services. Expected to balance cost-effectiveness with operational continuity, ensuring timely resolution without compromising standards.
Geographies: Full time on site; this role does not support working from home.
Hours: Flexibility to support shift working and critical projects is required. This role can require out of hours working to support specific objectives. Emergency call outs to unsupported production shifts is required.
Education / Qualifications / memberships
Desirable:
Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
Knowledge & Understanding
Required:
Theoretical and practical knowledge of filling, capping and labelling equipment.
Deep understanding of diagnostic techniques, including how this is affected by automation.
