The role will partner with the Senior Techno-Functional Engineer and together represent the Technical Support for a collection of the Bank's LoB systems (back-office systems served by the DGCIO - Central Services and Governors). They will be providing techno-functional support and product delivery services for those systems.
Flexible Working Options
This role is open to flexible working patterns, these may include:
Job share, Flexible start and end time to each day, ability to adapt calendar as needed, this could be to fit in the school run, gym, or appointments. A 50% in-office attendance requirement can be spread across the month to accommodate diverse working patterns, such as the flexibility to purchase a weekly train ticket for certain weeks, compressed hours (subject to approval and policy within the team), working from abroad policy (subject to approval and policy within the team).
A Day in the Role
On any given day you will be supporting a broad range of services, which might include the following:
Provide application techno-functional support for a range of enterprise-level back-office systems (e.g. IWMS, Catering, Tech Design Architecture, CAD etc.)
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working closely with other members of the team and with vendor support to ensure high system reliability and performance
Help to drive improvements in the applications in scope
Assist with the management of technology and operational risk for the systems allocated.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product delivery and support of systems in scope.
Provide end user training to business stakeholders (i.e. business users/SMEs) to educate on best practices, functionalities, and capabilities of the applications in scope.
Work with other team members to support and enhance integrations between the systems in scope and other Bank systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Develop custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to meet the Bank's unique reporting requirements.
Role Requirements
Having a good level of experience in a wide variety of back-office systems, you will maintain, troubleshoot and enhance a broad range of systems that keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Minimum Criteria
We're looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:
Familiar with application product delivery and support for back-office systems (facilities management, tech support, compliance and other admin functions)
Good working knowledge of the management, support and configuration of Enterprise Applications
Ability to analyse and resolve problems unassisted and to carry out some development tasks with minimum guidance
Essential Criteria
We are interested in hearing from candidates who have the following capabilities:
Basic understanding of different (relational) database management systems (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle) and hands on experience performing back-end queries (PL/SQL or SQL Developer)
Understanding the concepts of implementing and supporting SaaS solutions and of working with external suppliers to integrate with internal systems (i.e. SSO)
Experience in a similar application support role (familiarity with ITIL, working knowledge of SDLC and familiarity with IT infrastructure like server and database management)
Good understanding of business processes and how those get facilitated by software solutions
Desirable Criteria
It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:
Understanding of scripting tools (e.g. Python, Javascript or Shell) that can be used to support small automations and data tasks
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Ability to learn new technologies and work with other technical and business owners to implement and support
Working knowledge of Agile vs Waterfall methodologies and tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence) as well as the application of each for continuous improvement & delivery is also important.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

Digital Enterprise Services Domain
The DES Domain is accountable for the provision of enterprise systems and services that support core business and technology functions across the Bank.
It supports the following key platforms:
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Platform
that includes but is not exclusive to ERP and Human Capital Management (HCM) including core HR, payroll, order processing, accounting, budgeting and resource management
Power Platform and Application Cloud Services
for services such as core Bank-wide D365, RTGS, PRA supervision and customer contact information and insight, Azure applications including the Bank's website hosted in Azure using Kubernetes.

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
We offer a salary as follows:
Leeds circa 40,320 - 45,360

Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
