The opportunity

We are looking for a

Chief Engineering & Product Officer (CEPO)

to join our senior leadership team and take ownership of

engineering delivery and product direction across the Group

.

This is a

hands-on leadership role

for someone ready to step up into a group-level position -- combining strong technical credibility with product thinking and a bias for delivery.

You will work directly with the CEO, lead our engineering teams day-to-day, and play a key role in shaping the next phase of Ascot Group's growth.

What you'll be doing

Leading engineering and product delivery across all platforms and brands Helping complete, launch and evolve

Salestracker

, our flagship SaaS product Improving delivery speed, quality and predictability Turning websites and digital platforms into more scalable, product-led systems Helping move AI initiatives from experimentation into practical, real-world use Setting engineering standards, architecture direction and delivery discipline Working hands-on with developers where it adds value and momentum Owning DevOps outcomes, supported by an external DevOps consultant

Hands-on leadership

This role requires

strong technical fluency

.

You will be expected to:

understand the technology stack in depth review and challenge code and technical decisions work directly with developers on complex problems contribute code or prototypes when it helps unblock delivery or set standards
You will

not

be a full-time coder. Success is measured by how well and how fast the team delivers.

You'll work across a mixed but modern environment, including:

SaaS / Platforms:

Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker

Legacy systems:

PHP (CodeIgniter), MySQL

Web platforms:

WordPress and custom frameworks

Infrastructure & services:

Cloud hosting (Linode), AWS S3, SendGrid

AI:

Applied AI across SEO, content, automation and internal tools
You should be comfortable working with both modern and legacy systems and guiding teams through sensible platform evolution.

This role is

ideally office-based

at our headquarters in

Weston-super-Mare

will be considered, with a

minimum expectation of two days per week in the office

In-person collaboration with engineering teams and senior leadership is important for success in this role.
